Jason Marcus

Chef/Owner of Traif

Eleven Madison Park Alum Chef
Livestreamed from Brooklyn, NY
$15

About the Host

A New Jersey native, and Oxford philosophy major, Chef Jason Marcus earned his culinary stripes in the top fine dining establishments of New York – Eleven Madison Park and Le Bernardin – before relocating to Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2010 (way before it became the cool thing to do) and striking out on his own with Traif. Fast forward to today, and Traif is still thriving as one of Brooklyn's most-beloved eateries (and so is the other restaurant he opened right down the street from Traif a few years later, XIXA). While the menus at Traif and XIXA differ, with XIXA drawing inspiration from Mexican cuisine and Traif celebrating pork, shellfish, and all "unkosher" foods, both restaurants put Chef Marcus's incredibly creative culinary mind on full display. Did we mention that he's also been a contestant on Food Network's "Chopped"?!?

About the Event

Chef Marcus welcomed us into his home kitchen (via livestream), and taught us how to cook a multi-course globally-inspired meal showcasing a few of his favorite signature dishes (see full menu below). And, as is always the case at our events, he took plenty of questions from attendees while he cooked and participated in an extended Q&A to close out the night!

What will we be making?

Appetizer: Spring Caprese Salad

Entrée: Strawberry-Cinnamon Baby Back Ribs

Dessert: Drop Biscuit Strawberry Cobbler
