About the Host

Chef Mitch Mayers got his start in the food world at the age of 14, where he mixed cotton candy sugar at state fairs for a family's concessions business. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, he served as Chef de Cuisine at beloved Seattle restaurant, Lark, before striking out on his own with Sawyer in 2018. Since then, he's done nothing but blow critics and diners away with his incredibly creative globally-inspired cuisine that simply does not fit into any of the usual buckets – i.e. bone-marrow infused matzoh ball pho and porchetta naan wrap with chimichurri. He's a two-time Cochon 555 Seattle award-winner, was named one of Zagat’s list of “Eight Under the Radar Chefs to Know in Seattle”, and has earned numerous semi-finalist nominations from the folks at James Beard for "Best New Restaurant" in 2019, and "Best Chef: Northwest & Pacific" in 2020.

About the Event

In this chefstream, Chef Mayers livestreamed from his home kitchen, as he taught us how to cook three of his favorite signature dishes from Sawyer's menu: Tuna Crudo with avocado & spicy mayo, Sirloin Steak with potatoes & white bbq sauce, and Nectarine Cobbler with biscuit topping. And, as is the case at every chefstream, he answered questions from attendees throughout the evening and participated in an extended Q&A to close out the night!

What will we be making?
